My Idols

"The greatest thing about great people is not the great things that they did but the way they influenced others to follow their path."

Always wanted to write some thing or other about the people who have influenced me a lot throughout my life. The people i idolise comprises not only of great personalities but they even contain my family,my friends ,my colleagues and many strangers. So through this post i will try to compose what all i have learned from each one them.Firstly i will write only small small extracts about them but with time i will keep on expanding them.

First on my list is the Man we all call Bapu,Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi , also known as Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of our Great Nation.Bapu was the pillar figure of India's Struggle for Independence. But what really astonishes rather hurts me nowadays is the strong anti-Gandhian wave going around among the so-called X / Y- generation people. Most of the people blame Bapu for our delayed independence.According to them if Bapu wasn't there then we would have got our independence long time back.I don't know how true it is .The only thing that i know is that Bapu deserves much more respect than what we are showing to him. Bapu gave all his life for the struggle of the people of this country .May be he did a lot of wrong things but even if he did one right thing than also he deserves our love ,our respect and our gratitude.

Well some day i will write a book on this great man.

These few lines of Bapu influence me a lot “It is better to allow our lives to speak for us than our words. God did not bear the cross only two thousand years ago. He bears it today, and he dies and is resurrected from day to day. It would be a poor comfort to the world if it had to depend on a historical God who died two thousand years ago. Do not, then, preach the God of history, but show him as he lives today through you.”
What i take from these lines is that "Let your action speak for you not your words"

Second on my list is one person who motivates me the most to work for my country, for my people.Being a foreigner she did something for this country ,for its people which a native can't even dream of. I think the biggest reason for this was that she never believed that humanity could be divided with so called LOCs between the countries. For god every human being is same and only thing we all need is love and care. She is a perfect example of a Mother.yes i am talking about Mother Teresa.

Mother Teresa once said "There is much suffering in the world - physical, material, mental. The suffering of some can be blamed on the greed of others. The material and physical suffering is suffering from hunger, from homelessness, from all kinds of diseases. But the greatest suffering is being lonely, feeling unloved, having no one. I have come more and more to realize that it is being unwanted that is the worst disease that any human being can ever experience.”

She taught me to treat every one with love and care ,make him feel important. What hurts everyone the most is the feeling of being neglected, not cared. And believe me it really make us feel good when we know that there is someone who care for us.

well will continue with more pretty soon
