My Gallery.....

Created my own gallery at home...... The pictures are currently black and white paper print outs and will be like that till I save enough to buy a color photo printer.

And now I can understand why my friend Seher once wished for a printer :) ... At that time I was surprised and thought who on earth wishes for a printer but now I can so relate to her and I too desperately want one for myself.

  1. Hmmm. Just paint the boundaries wid bold sketchpen colors and the b/w pics wud come out alive, I think. Try on one. :)

    1. Nice idea-
She could also try to colorize the images themselves with some kind of marker, or colored pencil medium. Works great on plain paper prints. Depends on the paper.

  2. And the top left most pic in the first frame, I think its a perfect family pic and you MUST get that framed singularly. Keep the boards for your photo journals but have some family portraits separate. I have such great ideas of decorating rooms/walls/spaces with portraits/family pics but I don't have such beautifully clicked pics with me. You shud definitely do that.

  3. I totally agree with you.... When I too saw the prints I immediately thought to develop some of these photos and frame.. so that is definitely on cards :)..and you are right these boards are more for day to day experiments ;)

  4. Wow ....!! Its my most fav activity that you are doing :) ...BTW...is this Seher me or some other Seher?
Because I too wanted to have a printer ..but I don't remember talking about it online ..and u have many friends ;)
Anyways , few days back I bought this notice board from 3M - who prepare sticky notes , its not a board actually , it's a kind of adhesive sheet in maroon colour , which can be stick to wall anywhere with adhesive tapes - so very light to carry ,can easily change its place , and need no pins to stick the papers on it ..there is an adhesive so u just need to place the paper on it and it sticks by itself and u can remove it easily too .I bought it thinking i ll prepare such photo journals with it...but then later on I discovered , as mentioned on the back side " not recommended for mounting photographs " :(...But then , dont we have small precious notes , cute memos, some print out of motivational stuff to read or nice cartoons on papers or our own drawings :)...so on the whole I liked it ...and light on my pocket too ..300 bucks only!Yoohoo!
Another idea I tried recently was with a photoframe we got from office which was actually a little large for a single photograph , so I collected all the passport size and small photographs of gone by years and prepared a collage.Looked much better than a simple picture and not to mention nostalgic! Will share the pics soon.

Much talk about me, coming back to your photo journals, its great what you have done!!!I am sure these photo journals bring all the good and bful memories back.I 'll suggest you can fill the empty space with some souvenirs of the place like bookmarks or little hangings ..personally I would do that or add some bright floro color stuff ,, but then it depeneds upon person to person how they like it!This way also it looks bful...I am sure colored ones will look all the more bful..

  5. I am still to come across a girl who is really named Seher ;) ..and I forgot by what name you are known in blog circles nowadays :) and Seher was the only name I could think... Actually you once commented on a post of mine where I mentioned that someone is going to gift me a DSLR by saying that who is this person giving you such an expensive gift and you wished for a printer :)

I know had I been a girl I would have been more artistic in decorating these boards but definitely loved the ideas you girls shared of bordering with sketch pens and adding souvenirs in between... Will definitely add those ...

And BTW I have already ordered for color prints of some of the selected pics ..some large some small ... so will soon add those too plus frame some :)

  6. BTW Suditi, happy to know about your additions .... You have always been quite creative as well as enthusiastic about keeping memoirs ..with scrapbooks, photo albums and now these sticky boards and frames :)..Me and my mom too at times take out the passport size photographs that we have clicked over the years starting from Kinder Garden to College n present and we laugh our heart out seeing how I have changed over these years :)
