Prevention is better than cure....???

All our budding years we have been taught "Prevention is better than cure"..thats why now we hear everyone saying that instead of curing the males of their lustful immoral intentions, better force the girls to wear against their wish inorder to prevent those lustful thoughts in men. Sick.....

  2. I wonder whose words you read to initiate the post. I think the person needs some curing himself.
But, if I were to use the adage 'Prevention is better than cure' in this context, then I would mean this:
"Prevent your sons to become rapists/molesters by rearing them well, than curing them of the ailment of a sick mind by punishing them later."

  3. Actually you have guessed it right...some prominent people including Kiran Bedi have said the same.. not in the same words but context... quite sad to hear people whom we look up to make such comments ... The way our masses think and behave is the biggest reason even after 60 odd years of Independence we are still such a poor country as far as living standard is concerned... There is massive requirement to eradicate this sick thinking that we all have.... I am not sure if you have read yesterdays sunday supplement of Times of India... it has an analysis of the Guwahati Molestation case... Let me see if I can find an e link for the same.

    1. Well, I stopped reading TOI long ago, for this very reason. It puts things in a very different light than the reality is. And, not to mention the advertisements which make the major chunk of it. But, following a newspaper like Hindu devoids you of getting the masala stories like Guwahati Molestation Case. I don't know if it's right or wrong to be bringing such incidents to light and making them such a big business. The media really needs to know where to draw the line.

  8. I spent a few years teaching self-defense and rape-avoidance to women. It's like rape is some sick game of dodgeball, and since we can't/won't make the boys stop throwing the ball, we wind up teaching the girls that it's their responsibility to dodge it. And that is wrong. If men have "sinful" thoughts, MEN should be taught to behave as humans rather than beasts.
